From packet to plant

The Seed Bank is where GreenWagon started, and it is still the heart of the app. Every packet becomes a seed lot with the variety, the supplier, the year it was packed and where you keep it. When you sow, you record it. When they come up, you record that too.

A seed lot remembers

• The packet

  Photograph the front and back. The variety, supplier and packed-for year are read for you to confirm, or type them in.

• Where it is

  Quantity on hand, the drawer or jar it lives in, and notes such as "needs cold start".

• How old it is

  Seed age and a viability estimate, so you know which packets to use first and which to test.

• Sowing

  Date, how many, indoors or out. A sowing is an event on the lot, so one packet can have several seasons behind it.

• Germination

  How many came up and when. Over the years this becomes your own germination record for that variety and supplier.

• Into the Garden

  Promote one or more seedlings to Garden plants. They keep a link back to the lot, so lineage is never lost.

On paper when you want it

Print your seed inventory for the shed wall, or export the whole Seed Bank as a file you keep. Your records belong to you and can leave the app at any time.
